I remember going off to study abroad and coming back to a
Bangsar that was beyond my wildest imagination. Suddenly,
there were all these interesting dining and shopping concepts,
frequented by equally worldly young people. For someone who
had been away for such a long time, it made the transition back
home much easier.
Over the years, Bangsar continued to evolve, constantly
embracing new ideas while still retaining a certain warmth and
familiarity. I saw it all happen from my office in Jalan Liku.
Bangsar was then, and still is my hang out spot. I loved
Hatsuhana at Bangsar Shopping Centre and was devastated
when they moved. I still buy my vadeh from the same auntie who
has been operating her roadside stall for years. I’m currently
a little obsessed with the laksa at House & Co, and Alexis at
Telawi has remained a constant favourite amongst my friends
and I. Don’t even get me started on the smoked tongue I recently
discovered at Jason’s!
But it’s more than just a foodie haunt. One of my favourite thingsis people watching in Bangsar. From leggy models to members ofparliament, they’re all at Bangsar.
